TOKAJ
I’m in Hungary, shooting a travel story on Budapest and the wine producing region of Tokaj, producers of one of the world’s best, and most famous sweet wines, Tokaj Azsu.
Now…I’m far from being a wine buff. I love wine, but, amongst other things, cash flow prevents me from becoming one (that, and the fact that most people I know who ARE wine buffs can be the most crashing bores!) but, I must say, the wines I have been drinking over the last couple of days are simply remarkable. The lovely people at Royal Tokai, Disznoko and Dobogo have been very generous in letting me taste some of their finest. Its beautiful, as well as delicious. The most perfect golden colour, which is great for photography. Unlike my wonderful dessert at yesterdays lunch at the Disznoko restaurant. It’s not often I find something impossible to shoot, but the poppy seed ice cream there, one of the best ice creams I have eaten in my entire life was, unfortunately for my camera…a dark, slate grey!
